science

Last week we learnt about animals and how they adapt through out their life. So far we have learnt that a plant makes its on food from the sun and water so it is called a producer. We also learnt about food chains.  For example: leaves, catterpiller, robin, eagle.

Did you know that the camels hump stores fat not water?

Did you know that a cactus uses its spikes for protecting its self?

Did you know that a cactus can go for out weeks without water?

Oh No! What did I forget?

I am so sorry, but I didn’t give out homework on Friday!

Over the weekend remember to learn your spellings and times tables. I will give the homework out on Monday.

Finding percentages

In maths we were finding out about sales in shops and some people were finding their own percentages.

I think I am making good progress in my percentages work.

Friday 15th November

Hi guys,

I have not been in school today because I have been poorly. I really hope to be back on Monday.

From what I have heard, you have had a great day in your pyjamas and have enjoyed a cake sale!

I have deleted some of the entries from our blog because we need to remember that it is a learning blog. It is here so that we can talk about our learning and some of the comments were not about the things that you are doing at school.

I would love to see some comments about your Children in Need day or the Year 5 Athletics on Monday!

Thursday 14th November

I was on a course today and I have really missed being at school!

Tomorrow, I hope that my English group can tell me all about making ink and that my maths group can show me how to order fractions.

I wonder how much information my class will be able to tell me about Tudor Explorers…

Tomorrow is Children in Need Day – Do you think that our uniform might look different for the day?

Tudor Houses

This afternoon we have been learning about Tudor Houses.

Did you know that Tudor Houses are easy to recognise because of the black and white effect?

Also, the beams are uneven because all of the wood was cut by hand, not by a machine.

Gruesome fact – Tudor Houses were made from Wattle and Daub (Daub was made out of clay, sand and dung!!).
