Last week we learnt about animals and how they adapt through out their life. So far we have learnt that a plant makes its on food from the sun and water so it is called a producer. We also learnt about food chains.  For example: leaves, catterpiller, robin, eagle.

Did you know that the camels hump stores fat not water?

Did you know that a cactus uses its spikes for protecting its self?

Did you know that a cactus can go for out weeks without water?

Mrs Harrison did you know that desert kangaroos lick their forearms to cool themselves down, gerbils stay underground in the heat of the day, emerging at night, fennec foxes lose heat through their big ears and furry soles help it to walkon hot sand.Tortoises will dribble down their front legs to cool them selves down,Kalahari ground squirrels use their bushy tails as sunshades turkey vulture urinate on their legs or fly up into cooler air if they overheat.trapdoor spiders make burrows in the sand and lines them with silk.At the top is a trapdoor. The burrow is the insect trap. The golden mole keeps out of the sun “swimming” through the sand ,just below the surface. It rearly emerges, as it can find all it needs below the ground.
